This is a rare opportunity to meet and hear first-hand from artists, industry experts and leading R&D specialists who are breaking boundaries and putting Salford’s creative industries on the world map alongside inspiring live performances from emerging artists.
Hosted by award-winning broadcaster and TV presenter - Nihal Arthanayake, Nihal will probe some of our city’s most eminent artistic disruptors and innovators. This is your chance to meet them face to face and be inspired.

Throughout the evening there will be opportunities to network and creative showcases from immersive artists - Supermassive with Tom Lambert, explore a Salford Minecraft world courtesy of local artist Adam Hart as well as showstopping performances from Drift underground art scene collective, bringing together local artists working in music, movement and digital art.
DJ sets from acclaimed musician Pops Roberts who fronts neo-soul collective Lovescene and has written and produced for clients such as Wolf Music, International Feel, Apollo R&S, Audio Network
Nibbles and drinks on arrival.

University of Salford, Cultural Accelerator Showcase

Join us in the MediaCity Campus for two very exciting previews:
Red Field - an exclusive peek at the first prototype of an artwork by internationally renowned, award winning artist Nye Thompson and creative technologist Kriss Dunk. Part of the Cultural Accelerator Programme within MediaCity’s Immersive Technologies Innovation Hub, and in collaboration with arts organisations FutureEverything and Quays Culture, Red Field immerses the audience in a unique experience that explores our complex relationship with exoplanetary colonisation through the lens of a trip to the surface of the planet Mars. Red Field encourages you to leave your mark behind!
The work will be available to experience on a drop in basis from midday until 5pm on Monday 25th in the Development Lab on the ground floor of the building. Entry is free.
Quantum - Immerse yourself in Richard Evans’ AI-focused sound and light performance, produced by Cold Star Media. This innovative show features hologram-style projections, volumetric 3D animations, and live electronic music, exploring the future of artificial intelligence and synthetic life in a theatricalised space.
Demos will take place at 4pm and 5pm and last around 20 minutes.

MediaCity Immersive Technologies Innovation Hub & DreamLab Showcase

MediaCity Immersive Technologies Innovation Hub is developing and guiding the local innovation community, to empower businesses in their pursuit of world-leading products, services and know how. Its primary areas of interest are:
- Virtual and Augmented Reality Experiences to future-proof businesses and develop new audiences
- Virtual Production techniques and processes to expand the creative potential of Film, VFX and TV
- Innovation in Gaming and Interactive technologies, shaping a range of sectors such as Esports
This showcase provides a chance to meet the MITIH team and the innovators in the Greater Manchester Creative community and explore their work that has been progressed within the ongoing Innovate UK funded programme. The showcase will include AI, Spatial and Virtual Production prototypes and other work from the DreamLab community.
MEDIACITY TOURS: Future of TV Production with dock10

dock10 is the UK’s leading television facility, home to many of the nation’s favourite shows. Located in the heart of MediaCity, their studios and post-production services provide broadcasters, production companies, and creative agencies with world-class facilities to produce award-winning content. Join them for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of their studios, where they’re developing cutting-edge AI and real-time animation technologies as part of the BridgeAI funded ALL.VP project. This R&D initiative, in collaboration with the University of York and 2LE Media, aims to innovate lighting practices for live TV by integrating physical and virtual environments using AI. Explore how we’re pushing the boundaries of lighting and virtual production for the future of live entertainment.

AIX Live Test Lab

Join AIX Live in our MediaCIty Test Lab in a series of drop-in sessions with the team from AIX Live who will share their vision to develop a new platform for the distribution of live, immersive experiences.
